Gout pain causes

Gout is a form of arthritis that often occurs in the middle of the night. Often labeled the ‘disease of kings’ gout haunts over 2 million Americans annually. It is also known as the most painful types of arthritis. This disease results when needle-like crystals of uric acid form in the body’s connective tissue or lodge themselves in the space between two bones or joints. These uric acid crystals inflame the surrounding area and lead to gout’s symptoms: Heat, Pain, Redness, Stiffness, Swelling, Arthritis attacks that develop in short time period (e.g., 12-24 hours), and Arthritis Attacks to one joint. Typical joints affected by gout include: elbows, fingers, heels, instep, and wrists.

The Cause of Gout :
To answer what causes gout? We need to understand how uric acid appears in the body. You see, uric acid is actually a by product of a very necessary part of your body’s normal function. However, gout sufferers often have higher levels of uric acid (called hyperuricemia) caused from the body’s inability to break down the uric acid. The uric acid is typically eliminated from the body through the urine. If, however, you suffer from this health disorder, the build up of uric acid crystals can find their way to joint spaces where they will cause painful inflammation that appear as lumps under the skin and can even disrupt the functioning of the kidney and cause the formation of kidney stones. It can cause serious damage quickly, it is extremely important that you treat your gout immediately

What causes asthma attacks?

Figuring out asthma attacks can take a long time. It’s a good idea to work with an experienced allergist to narrow down your triggers and find ways to manage them. Allergies are usually tested by injecting a tiny amount of a potential allergen and seeing if there is a reaction. While it can be a hereditary condition, it is usually also influenced by environmental factors. Many cases of this disease are actually allergic asthma, which means the asthma attacks are triggered by an allergic reactions to something in the environment.

Some of the most common causes of allergic asthma attacks include the following:
Dust Mites: To reduce the number of dust mites in your home, rip out carpet and put in hardwood floors, linoleum or tiles. Change bedding frequently and vacuum the mattress often. Wash bedding in hot, soapy water every week. Dust often, using a cloth that will trap dust, not spread it. Use a HEPA filter in your vacuum cleaner and in air conditioners.

Pet Dander: Keep pets out of your bedroom and limit them to rooms that have hardwood floors, tile or linoleum. Shampoo pets often. Ask an allergist about treatments that may reduce pet allergies.

Pollen: Keep your windows closed during high pollen seasons and install an air purifier or HEPA filter in your heating and air conditioner system. Limit outdoor activities when the pollen count is high.

Mold and Mildew: Kill mold and mildew with bleach solutions. Use a dehumidifier in areas where mold and mildew grow. Consider repainting walls with a paint that prevents mildew from growing.

Chemicals: Open windows when using chemicals that trigger asthma attacks. Find out which specific chemicals cause a reaction, and look for products that replace these chemicals with natural alternatives.

Origin of swine flu

A team from the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is on its way to Mexico Tuesday April 28 with the purporse of investigating the origin of the swin flu cases in Mexico. The BBC rumours that people had been falling ill last month near some intensive pig farms meant the FAO had to act: “[We had] no indication of human cases of direct contact with pigs but this can never be totally sure and the probability that this virus could come from pigs directly could not be anyway ruled out totally”

It is believed that the origin of the current pig flu epidemic took place in an industrialized American-Mexican where a 4-year-old boy acquired the illness first. The boy, who survived the influenza infection, is Mexico’s earliest known case of the pig-bird-human chimera virus, Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova said Monday. The boy lives near a pig farm run by a U.S.-Mexican company, Granjas Carroll, in the municipality of Perote, in Veracruz State on the Gulf of Mexico. The 4-year old contracted the disease on April 2, Cordova said, one of a group of residents who came down with what was at the time labelled a particularly bad case of the flu. Testing confirmed that the disease contracted by the boy was due to the same strain of virus that has caused the epidemic.
People contracting pig flu from pig farming is not uncommon, in fact, it happens everywhere in the world; what is highly uncommon is that after the virus contracted from the animal is acquired it is transferred from human-to-human as is the case of the current epidemic.

Why Heart Fails

Heart fails when the heart is unable to pump blood effectively. So, why does this happen? Now, let us look at the various causes of heart failure. The major causes of this failure, according to cardiologist, are coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, cardiomyopathy, and valvular heart disease.

First of all, excessive weight leads to increased blood volume in the body. This is only natural, since the excess body mass requires adequate blood flow, just like any other body tissue. However, this means the heart must continually pump a larger volume of blood. In other words, the workload of this body part is being increased; proportionally to the weight. Just like any other muscle in the body, the heart muscle responds to this increased workload by becoming hypertrophied, i.e. by increasing its size. This condition is called left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), and is often associated with some degree of hypertension (increased blood pressure).

Up to a point, the heart can accommodate this and continue to function normally. Later however, the following problem develops: As the muscle grows larger, the coronary arteries (the vessels supplying blood to the  muscle) fail to proliferate at the same rate. Although additional coronary branches are being formed, their number soon becomes insufficient to sustain the increased mass of the heart muscle. Therefore, a relative ischemia (lack of blood) occurs, which tends to become manifest during states of high demand (physical exercise, febrile illnesses, etc). The heart tissue affected by this phenomenon is being damaged over time, and gradually looses is ability to contract normally. Moreover, the hypertrophied cardiac muscle looses elasticity, and therefore fails to relax completely in between cardiac contractions. This cause’s insufficient filling of the muscle with blood prior to a contraction, which in turn decreases the amount of blood pumped out during the contraction. Resulting in heart failure.

Diabetes Symptoms

Diabetes is a disorder in the body’s capability to convert glucose to energy. It is caused due to inadequate production of glucose by the pancreas. In diabetes patients, the production of glucose is impair.

This disease symptoms most of the time begin slowly, and difficult to recognize initially. They may include fatigue, sudden weight loss, blurred vision, slow healing of wounds, frequent urination – particularly at night, and excessive thirst. The loss of fluids persuades extreme thirst, leading to more frequent urination.

A person with diabetes may really show no symptoms. Type 2,  in particular, develops gradually, even for years before it is diagnosed. When symptoms develop, they differ from person to person.

Symptoms that develop vary for Type I and Type II diabetes. In Type I, they generally show up slowly in children or young people over a period of a few days or weeks. In Type II, symptoms develop even more slowly, over a time of years – in adults over the age of forty. Adults often do not understand they have diabetes mellitus.

Type 1 Diabetes Symptoms often come suddenly. They include:

  1. Exceptional thirst (also called polydipsia).
  2. Dry mouth.
  3. Frequent urination (also called polyuria).
  4. Weight loss.
  5. Feeling weak and tired.
  6. Unclear vision.

Type 2 diabetes symptoms:

  1. People with Type 2 mostly don’t observe any symptoms.
  2. They include: – blurred vision
  3. Cuts or wounds that heal slowly.
  4. Itchy skin.
  5. Increased thirst.
  6. Frequent urination.
  7. Leg pain.
